El Paso Advocates for Prevention Coalition

The El Paso Advocates for Prevention Coalition (EPAPC) is a community coalition partnership that encourages community mobilization to address substance use and misuse. EPAPC works towards changing local policies and influencing social norms related to substance use to include underage alcohol use, tobacco and nicotine products, marijuana and other cannabinoids, and prescription drug misuse. 

EPAPC Program Includes

  • Assessing the community’s needs and identified problems
  • Developing detailed plans that focus on specific outcomes
  • Implement plans using evidence-based interventions
  • Evaluate the plans implemented
  • Preventing and reducing substance use and misuse
  • Increasing community awareness regarding the health consequences of substance use and misuse
  • Engage community members to participate in this coalition

Open to the public in El Paso County
