Pregnant Postpartum Intervention

The Pregnant Postpartum Intervention (PPI) program provides community-based, gender-specific outreach, and intervention services for pregnant and postpartum females with substance use disorders or who are at risk of developing substance use disorders.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pregnant and postpartum females who are Texas residents and who are identified as being at risk of having, or who have, a substance use disorder
    • Postpartum includes the period from birth through 10 months of age of the female infant
  • Females referred by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) who are identified as being at risk of having, or who have a substance use disorder and who have children under the age of six

PPI Program Includes

  • Program services offered Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or by appointment
  • Case management services
  • Engagement in positive alternative activities to increase family bonding
  • Comprehensive linkage to services
  • Curriculum education utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Outreach services to include distribution of risk reduction kits
